Patience is a virtue, and can be best learned in waiting. Waiting on visas from the Indonesian government, a peace treaty to be signed, and babies to be born has taught Lori strength of character and patience in waiting.

Over 30 Years of Living and Working Abroad

Lori spent 10 years working in relief and development in Indonesia where she was a nonprofit leader who cultivated strategies for IDPs fleeing civil war in Aceh province and led disaster relief efforts in Banda Aceh after the tsunami of 2004. She was a liason with the UN coordination efforts. She speaks Indonesian fluently.

Lori worked in Singapore for 10 years building bridges between groups where diversity of culture, faith and socio-economic status contained barriers to be removed in community development. Lori’s cross-cultural skills and ability to speak 6 languages were key in training and building teams to work together with harmony and depth.
